Vacation Notes

I believe this note upon which I took notes a few months back is from our brief vacation to see Jeanne in Flagstaff. I asked everyone in the car, just the four of us, what they most liked about the other three people.

Here is what Matty said: Drew is fun, Mom is comfy to be sat upon, and Dad is fun to play Xbox with.

John said: Drew is fun, Matty is good at playing games, and Mary is good to go places with.

Drew: Matty is fun with movies, Mom is cost effective and Dad is funny. I guess we got to talking about the answers everyone gave that we never got around to my answers!

my new career at Carrie Tingley Hospital

My days at CTH are going swell. I can remember when they werenot. When I would go in day after day for months, five days a week this wummer jsust to et bawled out by patricia daily. Now I actually look forward to going to work. It is rewarding and I feel useful and can excape the drudgery of housework, endless housework. Besides with this job, we can now afford a new and nicer standard of living. I stopped at Jackalope for instance and bought new earrings on a whim becasue theyw ere drop dead gorgeous and I fell for them right away. yeah!! I could not do taht last year, even for super nice $12 earrings. Jsut too much money for a fixed income.
Brittany is the bewst boss ever. totally competent and nice and cheerful and always always fair. I feel terribly blessed to work here. Some days I cannot believ emy good fortune to work here. I told my boss in y interview today taht this is hands down my best job ever. How cool to be able to say taht about your current job! My boss said she has total faith in me, 100% confidence in me. taht is right, we had an oficial interview today, to wrqap up the hiring process, she was laughing about having to ask me these questions, for we know each other pretty well now after four months working together. But many other things have taken her time so the hiring of me kind of got put on a back burner for a while, off and on, while more important matters needed tending to. I have never had a boss say or even think that, to my knowledge. I think I will stay here for quite some time to come. It was hard hard excruciating work learning all the nursing djuties at CTH but it has all been worth it, no doubt about it. And now that I know the jobs, and am getitng estra hours left and right, and there is a brand new Satellite coffee next door, life is very good, very good. mary

No!

I heard Matty telling us the other day that he might leave Hope Christian someday to go to another middle school. Well, this certainly came out of the blue. He is in first grade. We asked him why he might leave and he said this is because Matthew Heinstein, his best friend might leave Hope someday to go to public school. So Matty mentioned Eisenhower Middle, our neighborhood's designated middle school, and Drew shouted out "No, you cannot do that!" Well, I was quite touched at Drew's apparent outrage. He was disturbed to hear Matty say this. He said that he has heard his friend Sean say how rough the kids are and how rough the language is at the lockers and in the hallways. Wow, to think these boys care for each other despite all their daily bickering and arguing.......how beautiful is that.
