the last day of kindergarten!

Drew spend the day at Bethany's as he does each Thursday. he happened to go also to Bethany's this Monday for the day as she was looking for a playmate. when I hung around in the front yard chatting with her Mom,Kari, the kids yelled to me, "When are you going to leave??" and we had to laugh. We have never heard that from them before.

Drew has mentioned concern before about going to first grade, back in the fall. I think he is ready for full day school now though. I went to school at realease time (250) to videotape the kids being picked up for carpooling for the very last time. That was great to again thank Mrs. Ferrarin for a really super year. He liked mrs. Baukus also, who is going to Charlotte Avenue school also next year. she said she 'got promoted' to first grade just like these kids and they thought that was great!! i liked the T shirts the other K class was wearing - thimbprints of the kids with handdrawn faces on them, and the kids names below the face and it was labeled 'Mrs. Buxton's Kindergarten Class. Very creative. We all agreed to go to the park after school to play, lots of the kids and moms and that was a good time - while Matt got lots of attention and a feeding of pears and blueberries. Drew was assigned to Mrs. Roach's class for first grade but unfortunately she was absent today so he could not meet her. (All the other K students met their teadhers for the upcoming year.)

I bought the most beautiful ceramic pots today for potting and picked up all of the giant bright red begonias to put into them. The pots are bright cobalt blue and I thought the color combos would look sharp against this drab white house without any color.

It seems the neighbors are really giving me the cold shouldersince I refused to pay their daughter for housesitting/dogsitting Rory since she took it upon herself to throw a party in our home while we were gone. not only was it a party, but an oernight party, and neighbors told me there were people coming and going all night. The decking was damaged next to the spa out back and was completely broken. she didn't return messages and didn't show up to talk to us abaout this once we got back to town; she was avoiding us big time. It is so diegusting to see her parents so apparently upset with us now. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black.
